Through the sales of Dota 2 Kompediums the current prize money for the tournament "The International" has risen to about 2.7 million U.S. dollars, and rising.
With each sold Compendium ( for eight euros to have on Steam ) in Dota 2 the prize money for the 'The International' championship by 2.50 U.S. dollars increases. In this way, the prize money pool of originally 1.6 million to more than 2.7 million U.S. dollars has increased.
Valve has set several goals as an incentive to further boost the sales of the Compendium: Compendium So owners were at the 2.2 million mark as a Taunt object with its own animation. At the final destination - put at 3.2 million - compendium owners may vote exclusively, which hero will be introduced next.
The compendium is an interactive tournament directory that provides events, championships, competitions, bets and special surveys. The "The International" is the world's largest international Dota 2 tournament will take place from 7 to 11 August in Seattle, Washington instead.
